Creating a List of Allowed Senders

Use the Allowed Senders page of Junk Mail Manager to create a list of senders whose messages are protected from quarantining. Messages from senders on your Allowed Senders list are always sent to your regular e-mail account. Important! Allowed Senders list entries override entries on your Blocked Senders list.

To create a list of allowed senders:

  1. Click Allowed Senders from the links on the left.
Result: The Allowed Senders page displays. Note: You can open this page directly by clicking the Add To Allowed Senders link next to the sender's name in the From line of any message in your Junk Mail folder.
  2. In the E-mail Address or Domain box, enter the address or domain of a sender you want on your Allowed Senders list.
    —Example Entries—
    Entry What happens
allan@example.com The user allan is added to your Allowed Senders list.
@example.com Any address at example.com is added to your Allowed Senders list.
@*.example.com Any address at any host within the example.com domain is added to your Allowed Senders list.
  3. Click Add.
Result: The names are added to the Allowed Senders list box, which updates to reflect the new entries. Mail sent from allowed senders is forwarded to your Inbox with a header, X-Junkmail-Whitelist: YES (by user at <hostname>), added in the message contents. Such mail is never treated as junkmail. You can click the Open link at the top of the page to view the message contents. (If necessary, see Using the Open Link.)
  4. To remove an address or domain from your list box, select one or more entries and click Remove.
    Result: A confirmation page appears.
  5. Click Remove or you can cancel the action.
Result: The selections disappear from your Allowed Senders list box and are subject to anti-spam scanning and specified junkmail filtering.
